Following that, Fitbit has released an updated second generation version namely Fitbit Charge 2 in 2017 and lastly the third generation of this series called Fitbit Charge 3 was released in late 2018. The Fitbit Charge series is actually fitness trackers or also known as smart bands from Fitbit company. These smart bands or fitness trackers usually have smaller display and a thinner band. The design of Fitbit Charge 3 also resembles a classic smart band but it has a larger display and thicker band. Despite having a larger design and thicker stripes, Fitbit Charge 3 is comparatively more lightweight than its predecessor Fitbit Charge 2. One of the most satisfying part of Fitbit watches that it comes in different stripes color and materials. This smart band is no exception of that. The stripes of Fitbit Charge 3 comes in different color and material. From black to rose gold, from silicone rubber to woven strips, or even leather and graphite aluminum material stripes are available. This smart band has a complete water resistance design. We can not even think of a smart gear without water resistance feature, so the Fitbit Charge 3 is no exception. This smart band has a 5 ATM water resistance feature which is capable of keeping your gear intact under up to 50 meters water level. This is truly helpful for its fitness and swim tracking function. Although the Fitbit Charge 2 did not have a water resistant display, rather it was splash waterproof. So the water resistance function got better in Fitbit Charge 3. Overall, the design is pretty slick and elegant as a smart band.

The display is pretty good considering it’s a smart band or fitness tracker. Usually smart bands or fitness trackers have a below average display, even some of them do not have any color display at all. But the Fitbit Charge 3 has a rectangular OLED color display, which seems pretty decent. The display size is 1.1 inch x 0.5 inch and it is larger than Fitbit Charge 2. The display is a touchscreen display, which is an update from its predecessor Fitbit Charge 2. Fitbit Charge 2 had a tap display which was clearly inconvenient to use. Although Fitbit has not officially revealed the display resolution. But the display seems pretty sharp. So overall, the display is not as bad as other fitness trackers or smart bands.

Fitbit has tried to build up a better impression on battery by increasing the battery life. Its predecessor Fitbit Charge 2 had a 5 days battery life, and Fitbit Charge 3 has a battery life of 7 days. It is not quite a dramatic change of battery life, but considering display expansion the battery life seems pretty decent. Although other smart bands like Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 4 has a whopping 20 days battery life, so it kind of gets lagged behind in the competition.

The looks, configurations and features are indeed brilliant, but it is still expensive where Xiaomi Mi Band 4 is sold at only 35 dollars with similar or close features. But you can still buy this smartwatch if you want to focus on the looks and design of this gear. Overall, except the price, this band is a pretty awesome and gorgeous looking band.
